Something Itachi learned quite some time ago was that depending too much on their Father’s opinion was only going to affect them negatively. He had to have conviction in himself, first and foremost.

“Trust your own judgement, Sasuke. You’re plenty skilled and carry worth, even if he doesn’t see it.”

Those few words are enough to brighten her face. She still doesn’t stop clinging to Itachi though. “I love ‘tachi,” she informs him.

“I love you too, little one.”

She sniffles again. “Does ‘tachi think I have a big forehead?” She reaches up to touch it, slightly worried that he does. It would kill her because Itachi’s opinion matters.

“No I don’t.” It was just a regular forehead to him, it didn’t matter.

She’s still crying, but it’s subsided a little bit since being picked up by Itachi. She snuggles closer to him, tucking her head against his shoulder. “They keep sayin’ my forehead is too big an’ making fun of me.” They being the other academy students.

Children were such silly people. Making fun of and scolding others for traits they couldn’t control. In hindsight, she has it a little easier than he had… being threatened for his birthright.

Then again, Itachi was never truly that upset by the threats.

“They’ll see how wrong they are in the future.” It’ll be fine.

TBH THO! Yes. Like everyone knows Shisui wanted to protect the Uchiha and the village.

Here Itachi, have a crying Sakura. She’s upset and wants her favorite older ninja.

“What’s bothering you.” He reaches down, lifting her into his arms and rocking her gently. Maybe he can get the crying to stop.
