goldenyondaime:

The pencil is set down, paperwork shoved to the side for now, and he gestures for Itachi to take a seat.

“Do you have any questions? I will do my best to answer them.” The previous topic would be thankfully forgotten.

Honestly, some of his questions are things his Father constantly repeats to him. Things he wants Itachi to ask.

“How often do you meet with the other village’s leaders.” That he is curious about.

goldenyondaime:

“You forget that I’m a sensor.”

He may be sleeping, but his reflexes were sharp as ever. Never mind that he trusted Itachi to have not done anything to him. That was a moot point.

“Should we study for your inauguration instead then?”

Even a sensor can be caught unawares, he thinks. Especially during the overload periods.

“I suppose.” If they’re both going to be stuck here.

goldenyondaime:

“This isn’t a proper place to sleep.” Thus he would continue to stay over his shifts, until he could get Minato home.

“Yet I’ve no other place to go.” There was his office, and then there was his apartment. Waving the other off now, he tugs a paper – a request from the Yamanaka clan – to read it over.

“I’m rested well enough. You, however, need to go home and sleep.”

Minato makes it difficult to have nothing but respect and admiration for his Hokage. Why must he push himself like this?

“You leave yourself vulnerable.” Itachi could’ve done so many questionable things.
