[[ I wouldn’t count them as supplementary material. They have a lot of information which clears up questions within the manga about the past. I highly recommend reading both of Itachi’s novels. They truly highlight how awful the situation for the Uchiha was, and how Itachi could ultimately do very little to stop it. ]]

Five days worth of travel. Three nights of rest, with four hours of sleep. Two meals worth of rations eaten on Itachi’s end.
But it was over. For now. His feet plant firmly on the top of Konoha’s wooden gates, glancing to make sure his partner has also made the trek up.
The barrier formula has not been changed. Their chakras lay completely undetected, and Itachi views the shapes below him move about. Unhurried. Safe. Secure.
“Remember. The Jinchuuriki is our only target.” But until then…they needed to locate him, and entering the village completely undetected was going to be the best shot they had.
Itachi doesn’t wait for his answer, stepping over the edge of the wall and allowing himself to drop.
Why do you think the villagers hated naruto? It makes sense thematically. He has a monster that killed many people inside him. And having a demon in a child is very likely to make people afraid of him. But given his parents it makes no sense. Both Kushina and Minato were well liked, respected ninjas. Minato was the HOKAGE. Why was no one sympathetic towards him for having to bear the burden of the nine tails inside him? Did Kishimoto just not plan out his storyline?
[[ Um.
The novels say so.
Danzo Shimura spread the information that Naruto was the Kyuubi and he was dangerous. He wanted them to be afraid of Naruto so Danzo could kill him and be lauded as a hero.
Very few people knew that he was Minato and Kushina’s son. This was done on purpose, to prevent people coming after him for being the Fourth’s son.
It’s less about “planned storyline” and more that the characters within the series purposely hid information. People in large masses are easy to scare.
It wasn’t well known public knowledge that the Kyuubi was the Leaf’s weapon. This isn’t Kumogakure. It was a monster what hailed from who know where to them, and this kid has it contained inside of him, and the trauma of the village being attacked makes them distrust and mistreat Naruto.
It it still shitty? Yeah. But it’s not bad writing. Humans can be cruel creatures. ]]
“Hokage-sama.” Standing behind Itachi, Minato sets a cup of tea down onto the desk, “-I’m proud of you and what you’ve accomplished.”

“It’s thanks to you.” He takes the offered cup, thankful for the drink while he works.
“But. Itachi, please.” He’s not worth that much respect.

I realize that everyone has different preferences, but if you are a writer that posts your work on tumblr, you should carefully consider the color contrast/text size of your theme.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve been excited to read something, only to click a read more and be met with text for ants and/or a highlighter or pastel color scheme. I have good eyesight, but imagine if you readers are colorblind or low vision. There are accessibility tools they could use, but wouldn’t you rather make it as easy as possible for readers to consume your content?
Think Ao3. Vox. Medium. Almost any popular, text-heavy site.
What do you see? High color contrast (usually black text on white background), LARGE body text, at least 16px MINIMUM. I realize that black and white can also cause eye strain with certain people, but at least it’s a start.
Have a quirky, design-y blog, but if you write, please think of the ones who may struggle reading the writing you’ve worked so hard to create. At the very least, always crosspost to ao3 where users can apply skins to make it easier to read.
But En, I don’t know much about design or user accessibility! Help!

Start here, do a little googling! You’ll learn something, and your readers will thank you for it.
Their surprise is a surprise within itself. Had Itachi told no one of what Minato had one with the Kyuubi that night? It had been a risk, taking half of it into the jaws of death with himself, but a necessary one.
“You won’t get any resistance from me. I’ll keep the Kyuubi in line if I can.” He promises, looking directly at Santa. “Although, if necessary, an Uchiha with the ability to control the Kyuubi may be necessary if he doesn’t cooperate.”
Better to be safe rather than sorry, after all.
Itachi had not been aware. This he will be informed of later.
Santa nods, with one last glance towards Ibiki. There were plenty of Uchiha in the village, so bothering Lord Fifth wouldn’t be necessary.
Now, he faces Minato again, creating his hand seals and making eye contact.
It was time to dip into his mind.
