It’s more than simply tending to his hair.

It is a means of control.

Itachi is fully aware of the intent behind Sasuke’s actions. His brother is his, and he will decide how Itachi dresses for the day, and how he will wear his long hair, which now has an actual shine due to access to regular baths, and decent shampoo.

Itachi used up all of his cards long ago, and knows that relinquishing this control to Sasuke keeps him complacent, and more importantly, within the village walls. 

Sasuke’s fingers are gentle, fingers against Itachi’s scalp as they brush through the locks first, before he even goes for the brush. Sasuke’s pleased his brother no longer has that many split ends, and the length is almost even– save for the bangs.

He opts for a higher ponytail. Not too lose, and not too tight, Itachi tilting his head back when necessary. 

Itachi stands when called, and will remain by Sasuke’s side, lest someone be brave enough to pick him off again.

This was one of the reasons he absolutely detested times when Akatsuki had to be brought together in one building. None of them knew how to knock.

He shouldn’t have even tried to shower in the first place.

Itachi simply slams the door shut, and locks it for good measure, not a word slipping from his mouth about what Hidan may or may not have seen.

[[ The entire stupid as fuck idea that shipping something or writing something equates to condoning or enjoying the acts irl. Especially coming from a fandom in which there are literal canon child mercenaries. Like……y’all have no room to talk. 

Since when did RP or fiction have to become stuffed animals in a padded room? People have been writing ~problematic~ content since the dawn of time. I was here before this shit began, I was here when it started, and thankfully at least in my RP circles it’s died the fuck down but jesus. It’s the stupidest thing.

I even heard someone tried to make a callout post because someone else was trying to play a villain……as the villain they actually are. And it might “upset people.”

[[ So– I took a lot of trips to Mexico as a kid. We would stay at my relatives, and one of them shared a neighborhood beside a man-made river in the town. Like, the sides of the river were cement blocks most of the time. But it was still clean water, and myself and my brother liked to play in it.

We also loved the ice cream truck. 

And when we’d hear it we’d go running to it.

Except, one of those days, I was in such a rush to get to the truck that I hauled myself out of the river on one of the concrete sides and hurt…both my knees? Yeah, both. I actually still have the scars, though they’re really small now. ]]
