[[ This is only unpopular depending on which circles you run in, but, godamn, I hate the mentality that writing/enjoying a certain thing within fictional settings reflects on what you enjoy or support irl. Because if that were true, holy shit, the entire Naruto fandom is in trouble. All of it. Mercenaries. Genocide. Miscommunication, abuse, manipulation, murder…the works. 

Anyways that mentality is stupid. I was around when it first started kicking up, and I swear to god, people who were good friends with me who knew what pairing I enjoyed straight up dropped me because suddenly their brand new friend told them it was wrong™ and hurtful or whatever. Not once did I ever hide or downplay what I liked, I made it very clear I didn’t support relationships like that irl but lmaoooo. Still. Their loss, entirely their loss. 

Hilariously enough, the most vocal people were always in series that involved murder and subterfuge and so on and one even had their main pairing with a series main villain. They always think they’re the only exception to the rule.

[[ God, that depends on time spent following me and who I’m most active with– groups come and go, but I’d say…as of right now…

Honestly I’d put a lot more people on here. I want to be writing with people I like consistently, but you know, life happens. I’ll never force a partner, and I can’t force myself either sometimes. And just because we currently aren’t writing doesn’t mean we aren’t friends anymore. Anyone who wrote with me in the past or wants to write more is more than welcome to hit me up for something. ]]

♢ What’s an AU that you think just won’t work with your muse?

[[I’m terrible with crossovers. So bad at them. I just…can’t ever place Itachi outside his native universe. Modern is one thing, fitting him into a regular modern setting is fine, and I can be creative with that too. But a crossover? Unless the other character is crossing into Itachi’s home universe, I can’t work it out. I’ve tried DBZ, HINABN, Pokemon, etc. I can’t do it. ]]

☹ What’s a character that you refuse to play with? Why?

[[ Er, I guess character(s) go here. The only characters I’ve ever flatly refused to play with are obvious mary sue OCs and OCs claiming to be Itachi’s children/significant other. That’s because most of the time (in my experience), the people of those blogs don’t know the difference between IC and OOC, and think I am Itachi, or that my feelings affect Itachi’s feelings, so when Itachi loses his patience they get upset with me and that shouldn’t happen. 

In the end, it’s more the mun I don’t want to play with rather than the character. I actually wouldn’t mind if a character was very pushy, aggressive, or was delusional about being together with him. If it’s just how the character is and the mun knows their boundary and is aware what their character is doing is wrong and these actions have consequences, then I’m a-ok. ]]

⚜ What is the best time to write for you? Why?

[[ Apparently, at work. And I hate that, because I have specific things to do each day and I really can’t afford to sit there, either with a notebook or a word document, and type out roleplay replies and waste time. It isn’t right. Work is also the time when I want to do things like edit pages. My blog is almost 4 years old and a lot of pages need reworking. I tell myself to do it when I get home, and the motivation disappears. 

As for the why, I think I finally figured out it’s the lighting. The ceiling fan light in my room doesn’t really illuminate the whole room, and it’s also yellowish/orange. The corner my desk is at is pretty dark most of the time. My workplace has fluorescent lighting.

I bought and installed a fluorescent light strip today, and I actually feel really good right now. ]]

♡ Would you ever write a poly ship?

[[ I have almost written poly ships before. I definitely have nothing against them, and I’ve drawn fanart of them before. In particular I’m fond of Itachi/Sasuke/Shisui and Itachi/Kisame/Shisui, as well as Sasuke/Itachi/Kisame. Back when I shipped SNS as well I also liked the idea of Naruto/Sasuke/Itachi. I believe the most recent poly ship I wrote about was Izumi/Itachi/Sasuke.

Not to say poly ships are only 3 people. They can definitely be more, but in my experience with this blog I’ve only nearly written/drawn groups of three. ]]

Blatant insecurity in Orochimaru was something that came slowly. It had always been there, but masked with anger, or a facade of being calm that Itachi could always see through. 

So it means something to him that it’s being shown to him honestly. That he’s trusted enough with the feelings, and depended on to assure him.

“You don’t.” Itachi reaches up to stroke a pale cheek, run his thumb across the gaunt cheekbone. 

He’s with him for several reasons, and though protecting the village by diverting Orochimaru’s attention is one of them… Itachi also cares. There was kindness in every human, Itachi believes. Even in someone who wasn’t as human anymore. 

As long as he can draw out this side of him, he’ll stay.
