8. Do you genuinely want your muse to be happy? What do you think would make them most happy in life?

Let the man be Hokage, let him make the change he dreams about. Yes ok Sasuke gets a little coddled/shielded but it’s nothing too damaging if we manage to avoid/settle the coup before it turns into a massacre. Get rid of Danzo. He’s cancer. ]]

9. Do you enjoy putting your muse through angst? What do you think would break their heart the most?

[[ I’m fuckin’ awful I love angst lmao. Especially if I can make myself cry while threading. That’s the good shit. 

I think the most awful thing I could do is have Itachi return to the village to find Sasuke’s killed himself. I can’t decide which I like more, finding the fresh corpse or an already bloating/rotting corpse. ]]

2. What made you decide to write this muse?

[[ This is like– the dumbest origin story lmao. Basically, an old friend revived her love for Naruto. KisaIta specifically, and she played Kisame. She begged me to make an Itachi blog and I decided what to heck, this is as good a reason as any to catch up on the manga. Now I’m stuck with my son 4 years later. ]]

11. What do you hate about your muse?

[[ I don’t….truly hate anything about him. Like, he has a lot of flaws and I may tease now and then, but I don’t truly hate anything about him. I may exaggerate my frustration with how stubborn he is at stages like pre-massacre/Akatsuki. For someone who claims to be flexible with understanding the world/people he’s really stuck in his ways lmao. ]]

18. What aspect of your muse’s personality is most important to you? What aspect of your muse’s personality do you think is most important to them? Is it the same? Why or why not?

1. What makes you the most emotional about your muse?

[[ Fuckin’……his feelings for Sasuke. Sometimes we both feel them at once and then those are classic Sasuke Feelings™. It’s awful. We have a problem. ]]

3. If you could change one event in your muse’s life (in their main or canon verse), what would you change?

[[ I mean, as far as “Itachi deserved better” choices go, the whole Danzo thing. Removing Danzo removes a lot of other problems. But as much as bad things happened to him, I like Itachi’s complete story. I’m not one of those of people who thinks canon is awful/badly written because A Bad Thing™ happened to one of my favorite characters.]]

5. If you could give your muse one gift, what would you give them?

[[ A good hairbush. At least….brush it daily…..that’s all I ask. ]]

18. What aspect of your muse’s personality is most important to you? What aspect of your muse’s personality do you think is most important to them? Is it the same? Why or why not?

[[ His feelings toward the clan. Basically, his opinion on clan pride and how easily one little thing like clan members being aggressive to him is enough to ruin the chance of him allying himself with them. Itachi thinks they’re full of themselves. And he’s not entirely wrong, when it comes to Yashiro And Pals™. It’s unfortunate they’re the loudest voices in the clan and Fugaku doesn’t really get them under control as much as he should. The Uchiha definitely deserved better but Yashiro and Co are your typical radical minority, they need to chill. 

I’d say Itachi thinks his most important trait is his ability to look at things from all sides. (Even though that didn’t stop him from getting played like a fiddle as a kid 8/ )

So it’s not the same. The reason it’s not the same is I really really really really really hate the whole Uchiha obsession/hate wank the fandom has going on so it’s important to me to recognize Itachi was NOT like the majority of his clan. He’s not conceited like Yashiro and his friends, he doesn’t cling onto the name, he doesn’t think it makes him better than people. ]]

By the time Iruka and a group of field medics find the bodies curled up under the rubble of the Uchiha district, it is too late. 

Even the strength of Haruno Sakura does not buy them enough time. 

Iruka meets Sasuke’s eyes, first. A brilliant red blossom blooms in his iris, shining brighter even than his tear streaked face. Sasuke is a mixture of anger, fear, but more than anything: grief. 

A grief he too shares, sinking to his knees to inspect the corpse curled up beside him. Sasuke’s savior– Iruka’s lover. 

Itachi has lost too much blood. Broken too many bones, and his heart cannot pump out anymore, giving up his life in exchange for Sasuke’s in under an instant. A shaky palm flat on Itachi’s chest. Three final beats, each slower than the last. 

Together, they cry. Itachi’s consciousness fades away contently.

Obsession led to many things. Such as not thinking plans through. Although Itachi did not see Orochimaru too often during the year they shared operating within Akatsuki, he did not miss the longing glances, or the rapt attention directed at his eyes, ever red.

Unfamiliar poisons were not to be trifled with. Nor was attacking a genjutsu specialist, as one could do something absolutely silly, like inject themselves with a fatal venom.

Itachi kneels by Orochimaru, paralyzed and drawing the last of his breaths. He takes the chance to place his palm on his chest, feeling the last beats of a dying heart. 

His brows lower. What a shame. 

He’ll at least burn the corpse, as a final, kind gesture. 

(Whereissasuke) (meme: heart) At last after their fight, Sasuke hears the last beat of Itachi’s heart, it is like thunder. Then there is silence. There is seven seconds before brain death, and he wonders what Itachi feels as they lay side by side on the stones. He moves his hand, and his fingers caress over Itachi’s. He doesn’t have to enter the darkness of death alone. Sasuke is here for him. Sasuke will experience this last moment with him. Why, pray tell, does Sasuke not feel freed? Nii-san?

There won’t be a next time, Itachi had told him, the last of his energy being used in speaking clearly, transferring Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, in the hopes Sasuke could hold his own.

As his heart begins to give out, his consciousness frays. Sasuke’s fingers against his own bring him back to when he was eight, and Sasuke was three, and they still used to share a bed. When touch was gentle, and innocent, and no one was out to take the other’s life. When things like the clan versus the village were far away, and non-problems.

He’s too far gone to realize that Sasuke is going with him. Nerve endings react, and he entwines their fingers much too hard for a man whose brain is dying.

[[ Depends on what part of his timeline he’s in. If he’s pre-Academy, then training. Academy, training+book learning, post Academy, missions+training. Post Chuunin promotion, mostly missions+rare training with Sasuke. Post ANBU promotion, literally nothing but his mission spying on the Uchiha clan. Post massacre and up to Edo Tensei he’s never really alone. ]]
