“It should be fine. Maybe if others loved him as I did…”

That would be a highly pressing matter– if such photos even existed. The clan wasn’t much for taking or developing too many. Not at the time Sasuke was being raised…

He didn’t really have time to dwell upon it, didn’t he?
Death claims all. If not now, then later. It was a universal truth. Kisame was not excluded.
“It was going to happen. I hope he figured out who he was, in the moment of his death.”

“I’ve been out of the country.” That’s as much as he’s capable of divulging. It shows in his state, however… he’s in sore need of a bath.
[[ I wouldn’t count them as supplementary material. They have a lot of information which clears up questions within the manga about the past. I highly recommend reading both of Itachi’s novels. They truly highlight how awful the situation for the Uchiha was, and how Itachi could ultimately do very little to stop it. ]]
[[ Um.
The novels say so.
Danzo Shimura spread the information that Naruto was the Kyuubi and he was dangerous. He wanted them to be afraid of Naruto so Danzo could kill him and be lauded as a hero.
Very few people knew that he was Minato and Kushina’s son. This was done on purpose, to prevent people coming after him for being the Fourth’s son.
It’s less about “planned storyline” and more that the characters within the series purposely hid information. People in large masses are easy to scare.
It wasn’t well known public knowledge that the Kyuubi was the Leaf’s weapon. This isn’t Kumogakure. It was a monster what hailed from who know where to them, and this kid has it contained inside of him, and the trauma of the village being attacked makes them distrust and mistreat Naruto.
It it still shitty? Yeah. But it’s not bad writing. Humans can be cruel creatures. ]]

“It’s thanks to you.” He takes the offered cup, thankful for the drink while he works.
“But. Itachi, please.” He’s not worth that much respect.
[[ Hi!! I was never translating directly from Japanese. I was second-hand translating from Spanish to English. The novels have been out in full-English translation for quite some time now, I highly urge you to simply purchase the novels and support Kishimoto and the novels’ authors. If you cannot afford a paperback, the Kindle version is cheaper, and the Kindle app (on PC and mobile) is free.]]

“I simply need to finish this.” Other people weren’t going to wait up for him, he needed to be ontop of it.
Just– half an hour more. Is all he asks.

“No. I don’t quite care.”
