Itachi would have an arranged marriage with a high ranking female of the Uchiha Clan, which are all a product of incest, along with the Hyuga and other clans. …And the human race is also a product of incest.. just putting that out there.

[[ Are you trying to justify Itachi/fem!Sasuke because I do not see your point. I am not even against that pairing, I just do not see it happening in that situation.

Not all humans are products of incest, that requires believing in Adam and Eve as the “first humans”, which is flat out wrong. We are products of evolution over many years. Some families in history choose to breed closely under the idea of “protecting” or “preserving” a bloodline. This is how a “royal line” or a “clan” is made.

When talking about Naruto, all clans that produce the kekke genkai in offspring would require a degree of incest to maintain a populace of clan members as generations pass. There are multiple clans in Naruto, so you cannot escape the practice of incest. However, I do not believe the degree of incest within the Uchiha clan is as close as marrying brothers and sisters, mothers and sons, or fathers and daughters off. There is a canon instance of a clan member and a non-clan member producing offspring prior to the manga’s ending. Izumi’s Father was not a member of the Uchiha clan, yet Izumi was undoubtedly an Uchiha and was able to produce the Uchiha clan’s Kekke Genkai.

I disagree that Itachi would have an arranged marriage with a “high ranking” member of the Uchiha clan. They are NOT that serious of a clan regarding their genetics. They were a group of families. There’s no system of elders, Fugaku was top brass and didn’t answer to anyone but his people’s pressure, not anyone else above him. They don’t have a system like the Hyuuga does.

Your asks makes sense for very serious clans like the Hyuuga, but not the Uchiha. The Uchiha would’ve likely over time bred out their own trait, and I’m not saying this is a bad thing. ]]

i like to think the kitty that’s shown with adult!sasuke sometimes is actually reincarnated itachi, since it’s the same black cat each time and sasuke likes feeding it and doesn’t seem to mind the company. what do you think? :3c

[[ It’s a nice theory, and not really… like, people aren’t able to shut down the theory because there’s no proof confirming it nor any proof denying it. I’ll take that over people claiming the cat reminds him of Sakura, rrgghh.

I think he ends up feeding several cats, or I’ve seen too much fanart. ]]

If Itachi and Sasuke weren’t brothers, were the same age, and attended the academy together, do you think they would be friends?

[[ Probably not because Itachi at a young age was very aloof and although not in a snotty way, considered himself better than his classmates. And that sounds contradictory but he didn’t think badly of his classmates and he didn’t hate them, he just didn’t compartmentalize them as worth making friends with. He sees himself on a different level. Again– it’s not out of spite or thinking they are ~peasants~, Itachi just intrinsically has different priorities and he was operating on a different mental level, given he’s a Mini Adult™.

If anything there’d be tension, sigh. With two Uchiha in the classroom there’d probably be a class environment of Which Uchiha Is Better and Itachi would outshine Sasuke in all aspects. Maybe a one-sided rivalry from Sasuke’s end which Itachi wouldn’t even acknowledge lmao. ]]

“Uchiha.” comes immediate, there’s no thought behind it– not that it’s required. Though it comes directly after and is seen in her face. “We.. have not handled things properly per custom. I expect father will remind me of this well into our child’s years.” Something light reaches her eyes, with hope to end up blooming in his. “A rolling stone gathers no moss, is what he says to me often, is who I am to him. there is no shame, I am proud, Itachi.”

Alright, alright. Uchiha it is. From what he has heard, his clan’s customs and ideas– while still not something he entirely agrees with, are much more lenient than that of the Hyuuga. And he wants their child to be safe above all.

He’s lucky, really, no matter what her Father says on the matter about her. Itachi does not feel like he’s chosen seconds, a reject, or a runt of a litter. He’s picked the most beautiful flower of all, and they, ironically enough, were too blind to see it.

“Uchiha, then.” he confirms, expression going soft, voice quiet.

“There’s no need to apologize” fingers splay over fabric. “I find it charming and.. r-refreshing?” The pink dusting her cheeks darkens. “I.. you know I’ve never handled myself well, socially speaking.” Having embarrassed herself a number of times while in his company. But there are more pressing matters to discuss. “Do you– have any questions?” Hinata’s brown knots at how awkward that sounded, as if to purposely prove her point.

“I, ah.” Where does he start. It’s always like this, there are questions until you are asked you have them. Then there are none, and he has to search for them again. But he’s thinking, drumming his fingers along her side idly, before realizing he should probably move his hands somewhere else. Her shoulders?Face. Or maybe– keep them to himself. The end up at her face, and so do his eyes, thumbing over her soft cheeks.

Unfortunately the question his mind finally brings up is not one that is likely to keep the mood.

“Which surname.”

A moment.

“Should they have.” He manages to finish his sentence. Because he knows, depending on the nature of their child’s eyes, their clans will fight, and Itachi wants to nip this in the bud beforehand. The child’s purpose, or fate, shouldn’t be decided by something as innocuous as a dojutsu.

On the other hand, perhaps it is better to let the child have a choice later on down the road.
