Itachi still had reflexes. Still held some strength in his joints, his muscles, and his veins. He could free himself if he truly wanted to, and yet he remains.

He’s….he’s been over this, in his mind, and he isn’t here to make excuses. Merely explain himself. Sasuke’s anger is warranted, and his intention is not to misdirect it.
“I wanted to keep you innocent, I had thought it was too much for you to handle. I was wrong.” Itachi makes sure to mention, before the fire can stoke itself any bigger.
Father didn’t want you to know, either. No one else told their own children, and you would’ve learned when you hit genin.
All left unsaid– they only sound like excuses.

In my AU with @goldenyondaime and @uzurutonkachi. Itachi is 14 when he rises to power. Minato doesn’t die until Itachi is 14 years old, and in his dying breaths he hands the title to Itachi. Clan leader position remains with Fugaku in this scenario, and might go to Sasuke one day, when Sasuke wants it.
In my Godaime AU he gains the title at around 23-25 years of age. I think this is the working AU with @amaryllisdrifts as Itachi’s taken on the task of trying to fix the Hyuuga clan. Position is still with Fugaku, since he would….fuck….math…
he’d be like 52 lol. Not close to dying yet.
My third AU is weird and I don’t think I’ve ever played it out, but it’s a post war and post boruto AU where Sasuke retrieves baby Itachi from another timeline, and raises him as his second child, and Itachi becomes like….the 9th Hokage. There is no more clan so no clan leader. ]]

Since when did RP or fiction have to become stuffed animals in a padded room? People have been writing ~problematic~ content since the dawn of time. I was here before this shit began, I was here when it started, and thankfully at least in my RP circles it’s died the fuck down but jesus. It’s the stupidest thing.
I even heard someone tried to make a callout post because someone else was trying to play a villain……as the villain they actually are. And it might “upset people.”
