Arya is the same person that harassed Phoenix, right? Is that the reason why she isn’t writing anymore?

[[ Arya is the same person who harassed Phoenix, yes. She’s gone through a lot of blogs since then, she’s quite fond of deleting them. However the reason Arya currently isn’t writing in the fandom is a bit more complicated.

Since then, Arya has given up the fandom once, returned, only to net herself a group of temporary friends all under the allied idea shipping certain things was wrong and that I was somehow a predator (RIP the Izumi I had), and then I guess the friends…didn’t give her enough attention? And she left the community again. Most of her RP blogs are deleted again. She constantly claims the Naruto community is toxic and impossible to roleplay in when really it’s her own behavior that causes her groups to self destruct. 

But I guess she can’t forgive me for discovering the truth that she was trying to manipulate Phoenix into making a secret roleplay blog for her when Arya’s public face was that she wanted Phoenix blocked/avoided at all costs. 

Toxic and abusive people always find ways to deflect. 

Also, anon, if you meant “Why isn’t Phoenix writing anymore”, she’s simply got other hobbies, like Overwatch. I’m still in contact with her.]]

how anti-shipping fosters, encourages, perpetuates, and glorifies abuse in fandom (masterpost)

these subjects come up again and again, so I wanted a masterpost of links to what I’ve written about how fandom anti-shipper culture is tightly related to abuse in fandom.

note: predators, abusers, and bullies are present everywhere in fandom, not just in anti-shipping or pro-shipping (or neutral) circles. this is because abusers will use whatever they have available to them as a tool for abuse. learn warning signs of abusive and/or controlling behavior; these will be far more reliable red flags than what a person ships in fandom.

I believe that many antis are coming from a genuine place. I just strongly disagree with where your focus lies and your chosen methods of dissemination. In fact, I feel that anti-shipping actively aids predators, for reasons which I’ll try to summarize in brief here.

the anti-shipping community is a great place for abusers because it encourages people to develop unquestioning loyalty to and trust of internal authorities, become deeply vulnerable to shame cycles, isolate themselves from outsiders, and avoid critical thought or skepticism of rhetoric.

The icing on the cake is that the things that antis say are ‘bad bad bad’ – incest, ‘pedophilia’ (they mean csa), and abuse – barely even resemble actual incest, csa, and abuse. As a result, when confronted with the real thing I suspect most anti-shippers are completely defenseless.

By demanding/requiring that others change their behavior on sites where antis have no moderating authority, they create loopholes for and/or implicitly approve of action taken to force people to comply with anti-shipper demands. this silent approval gives antis unspoken permission to exaggerate, lie, and create scaremonger material about anything or anyone they disapprove of or want to silence. It also gives abusers in the anti ranks an overlooked ‘blind spot’ from which they are allowed to harass, defame, dogpile, threaten, blackmail, doxx, suicide bait, and assault people who don’t change in response to anti demands.

the funny thing about bullies – especially self-righteous bullies that travel in packs, such as antis – is that 99.8% of the time they come out on top of any conflict they get into. this is because as long as a bully’s opponent gives even the slightest fuck about playing fair, being kind, and giving the benefit of the doubt, they will never out-bully a bully.

[[ The Original Shin was an experiment through the combined efforts of Danzo and Orochimaru to create a human whose DNA would allow Sharingan to be easily transplanted in any part of the body. Shin apparently heard a LOT of praise towards Itachi from the both of them as he fully believed that Itachi was the epitome of everything an Uchiha should be. 

Shin lost his right arm which in turn became Danzo’s right arm.

At some point Shin escaped Orochimaru’s facilities. The most believable time frame for this is when Sasuke killed Orochimaru, leaving most of his bases completely unattended. 

Shin later discovered that Sasuke had killed Itachi. Because Shin lacks the information that Itachi was a wanted criminal for the massacre of the Uchiha and that Sasuke was the only survivor, Shin mistakenly believes that Sasuke murdered Itachi, and therefore his enemy became Sasuke. 

Shin began cloning himself at some point using parts of his body, but the small child-Shin turned on him during the fight versus Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, and they killed the adult. 

I don’t know his age– not even the wikia does. It’s probably trivial because due to the existence of Mitsuki and Log, Orochimaru is able to produce subjects that don’t need to go through infancy/childhood. ]]
